Boston, MA (May 17, 2023) The Urban College of Boston (UCB) Board of Trustees announced today the appointment of Dr. Yves Salomon-Fernández as the new President of the College, effective August 7, 2023. Salomon-Fernández will succeed Clea Andreadis, who has served as interim president since the retirement of Michael Taylor in June 2022 after three years as the College's Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.

Over the last six months, we have been providing updates on the strategic partnership between Urban College of Boston (UCB) and Impact.org, a non-profit affiliate of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). I am pleased to inform you that on August 19, we received approval from the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education (MA DHE) for this affiliation to move forward and on September 30, we received provisional approval from the U.S. Department of Education to continue to issue financial aid under the auspices of our new structure.

(UCB), which amend the ownership and governance structure of UCB to allow the Supporting Organization “Impact.org,” a non-profit affiliate of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), to become UCB’s sole corporate member.

Urban College of Boston President Michael Taylor Retires, Clea Andreadis Named Interim President

Last winter, President Michael Taylor announced to the Urban College of Boston (UCB) community that he would be retiring on June 24, 2022, after nearly ten years at the College. As announced by the UCB Board of Trustees at the time, Clea Andreadis, the College’s Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, has been appointed as Interim President for the 2022 – 2023 academic year. Ms. Andreadis will begin her new role immediately upon Mr. Taylor’s retirement, and plans to return to her current position once the College has completed its search for a new president. UCB Board Chair Peter Ebb noted that “as we approach the end of Michael’s tenure, we wanted to express our gratitude for his leadership and to convey our appreciation to Clea for her taking on this new role.”
