President Taylor: Email to the Community

Dear UCB community,

I hope this finds you and your families safe and healthy. I write with some important updates as we look ahead.

Spring Semester Mini-Session III

As a reminder, Mini-Session III courses start on April 9. You can find the course schedule here. Please click here for registration instructions.

Commencement

We will be celebrating the classes of 2020 and 2021 with an online ceremony on Sunday, June 6, at noon. More details will be shared soon with the graduates and – later – the entire community. In recognition of students’ persistence in the face of this challenging year, I have waived graduation fees for all graduates who have received or will receive their certificate or diploma between Spring 2020 and Spring 2021.

If you are eligible to graduate this semester, please remember to complete this graduation application by Friday, April 2. Graduating students must complete this form even if they do not plan to participate in the ceremony.

Summer 2021 Semester

All summer semester courses will take place remotely and staff will continue to work remotely throughout the summer. Summer registration starts on April 27. Watch your email for more information in early- to mid-April.

Fall 2021 Semester

Due to the size constraints of our space and the need to ensure the health and safety of faculty, staff, and students, all full-semester and Mini-Session I fall courses will take place remotely. We hope to be able to offer some in-person Mini-Session II and III courses this fall. We will provide an update on that prior to fall registration, which starts on July 19.

COVID-19 Vaccinations

I would also like to take this opportunity to strongly encourage every member of the UCB community to get the COVID-19 vaccine when it is their turn, so that we can return as quickly and safely as possible to in-person teaching, learning, and work. More information about the Massachusetts COVID-19 vaccine rollout is available here: https://www.mass.gov/covid-19-vaccine.

La Mini-Session III del semestre de la primavera

La ceremonia de graduación

Nosotros estaremos celebrando las clases de 2020 y 2021 con una ceremonia en línea el domingo, 6 de junio a las doce de la tarde. Mas detalles estarán compartidos pronto con los graduados y después con toda la comunidad. Para reconocer la perseverancia de los estudiantes en este ano difícil, he anulado los cargos de graduación para todos los graduados quien han recibido o recibirán su diploma entre la primavera de 2020 y la primavera de 2021.

Si esta elegible para graduar este semestre, por favor recuerda completar la aplicación de graduación antes del viernes, 2 de abril. Los graduados tienen que completar esta aplicación aun si no tienen planes para participar en la ceremonia.

El semestre de verano 2021

Si hay noticias según las clases de otoño, los proveemos antes de la registración para las clases de otoño, que empieza el 19 de julio.

Vacunas para COVID-19

También quisiera tomar esta oportunidad para animar cada miembro de la comunidad de UCB que obtengan la vacuna para COVID-19 cuando es su turno, para que podemos regresar lo más pronto posible a la enseñanza, el aprendizaje, y el trabajo en la clase en vez de estar remotas.
