Early Childhood Education Associate Degree

The Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education degree provides the knowledge and experience needed to work with young children in a variety of settings. Access to internships and job placement sites are readily available through childcare programs. Transfer agreements with other local colleges allow students to continue their education in this career field.

There are 60 credits required to complete the Early Childhood Education associate degree including program concentration courses in:

  • Child Growth and Development

  • Early Childhood Curriculum

  • Observing, Recording, & Assessing

  • Guidance and Discipline

  • Internship I and II

Career Advancement: UCB's Early Childhood Education CDA program follows the curriculum for the National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) and provides 120 hours of supervised professional experience and academic training to students who want a professional credential to teach young children.
