Math Tutors
Urban College of Boston is looking for tutors to schedule and provide one-on-one math tutoring sessions with students in UCB's Mathematics classes. Relevant skills include the following:
- Basic arithmetic and pre-algebra skills, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, perimeter, area, volume, signed numbers, ratios, algebraic expressions and equations.
- College-level algebra skills including exponents, polynomials, factoring, graphing, systems of linear equations, inequalities, radicals, and scientific notation.
- Bilingual candidates preferred.
- Languages preferred: Spanish, Cantonese and Mandarin
English Tutors
Urban College of Boston is looking for tutors to schedule and provide one-on-one English tutoring sessions with students in UCB's ESL classes. Relevant skills include the following:
- Advanced understanding of English grammar and syntax
- College-level writing skills (essay coherency and organization/ research skills)
- Knowledge of APA style preferred.
- Bilingual candidates preferred.
- Languages preferred: Spanish, Cantonese and Mandarin
Academic Affairs Intern
We are looking for an Intern to assist our Dean of Academic Affairs with various departmental tasks and projects in an exciting and diverse community. Ideal candidates have excellent computer and writing skills and strong organizational skills. Candidates should also be familiar with Higher Education at the Associate level and be pursuing a Graduate degree in Higher Education. Intern will be responsible, at least in part, for the following tasks:
- Coordinate faculty
- Schedule courses
- Improve efficiency of department document collection and filing
- Assist in planning and facilitating events (Commencement, Open Houses, etc).
- Bilingual candidates in Chinese or Spanish preferred but not required.
Marketing Intern
Our Marketing and Community Life Department needs dedicated volunteers to assist the Director of Special Projects with . . . well, special projects. Ideal candidates are hard-working, team-oriented and have some experience with or interest in marketing or event planning. Tasks may include:
-Helping UCB staff to plan and facilitate community events
-Assisting in the set-up and take-down of events
-Help with targeted mailings
-Database development/Constant Contact
-Assistance with planning and implementing marketing strategies
-Conducting market research
-Social Media campaigns
-Filing

Learning Resource Center Volunteer
We are looking for individuals to support our Learning Resource Center Staff in the following ways:
- Assist and instruct students with various computer uses and applications, i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, downloads, printing, attachments, etc.
- Maintain LRC equipment, i.e., computers, printers and copiers
- Schedule, set-up, troubleshoot and monitor return of A/V equipment
- Sell parking tickets
- Various duties as assigned
- Bilingual candidates preferred.
