What is the Urban College of Boston?

The Urban College of Boston (UCB) is an independent, co-educational two-year institution located in the heart of downtown Boston. UCB is chartered by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to offer programs of study leading to the Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services Administration and General Studies.  UCB also offers a range of certificate programs and continuing education courses.

Accreditation

The Urban College of Boston is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. (NEASC) Accreditation of an institution of higher education by the New England Association indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of institutional quality periodically applied through a peer review process. An accredited college or university is one which has available the necessary resources to achieve its stated purposes through appropriate educational programs, is substantially doing so, and gives reasonable evidence that it will continue to do so in the future.

The Urban College Self-Study can be found here.

2009 Focused Evaluation Special Report can be found here.
